Our astronomers run regular sessions from the dedicated Twice Brewed Inn Observatory and planetarium, giving you the chance to explore the Universe through expert-led presentations, immersive planetarium experiences and telescope observing. The Observatory was officially opened by Robson Green in May 2026, creating a permanent home for astronomy at Twice Brewed Inn and bringing together Kielder Observatory’s expertise with one of Northumberland’s best-known destinations.

Kielder Observatory has spent nearly two decades helping people discover the Universe and experience the extraordinary dark skies of Northumberland. Our work at Twice Brewed Inn extends that mission to the historic landscape of Hadrian’s Wall, offering a distinct astronomy experience while retaining the expert, welcoming and accessible approach at the heart of Kielder Observatory.

Twice Brewed Inn combines a dedicated observatory, planetarium and astronomy spaces with the expertise of the Kielder Observatory team. Sessions are designed for everyone, whether you are looking through a telescope for the first time or already have a passion for astronomy. Set within the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, Twice Brewed Inn offers exceptional opportunities to experience the night sky away from the lights of our towns and cities.
