I’ve always been drawn to the beauty and stillness of Northumberland – there’s nowhere else quite like it. Living under the dark skies of Northumberland National Park, I’m reminded daily of how transformative this landscape can be. As a trustee of Kielder Observatory, I’m committed to bringing more people to this remarkable place, to experience the wonders of the night sky and the Observatory’s work.

My background is in law, and I’m currently an Associate Professor at Northumbria Law School, where I lead on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Before joining the University, I practised as a solicitor in London, Greece and Australia. I’ve always been motivated by the idea of access – to justice, to knowledge, and now to the universe above us. Kielder Observatory plays a vital role in that, opening up science, awe and possibility to everyone.
