Saturn Night
The King of the rings! Majestic planet Saturn is well placed this evening for observing a celestial wonder of the solar system! Many of our guests say that seeing Saturn for the first time is truly magical and tonight's event takes advantage of Saturn's position in the sky so that you too can experience seeing it for yourselves through our large aperture telescopes. Starting the evening with a talk including amazing images of Saturn's surface, its ring system and its moons we will share with you some of the amazing discoveries first made by the Voyager missions and then by the Cassini probe which has been orbiting the planet since July 2004. Then our experienced astronomers will take you on a tour of the observatory, give tuition on using the telescopes and on to observing the planet itself. Observing the planet Saturn should be on everyone's to do list and promises to be an unforgettable experience.
